therapy

we offer talking therapy to individuals, couples and families.

we offer sessions in person, over the phone or online. sessions can be held in nature, for those who would like to try being outside the traditional therapy room. sessions are typically around 50 minutes.

the length of time we would work together will depend on your individual hopes, needs and preferences: some people only want a couple of sessions and others may benefit from longer term work.

we work with people experiencing a range of difficulties, including low mood, anxiety, bereavement, loss, the effects of traumatic experiences, fertility issues, parenting challenges, difficulties relating to gender and sexuality, living with long term health conditions and new diagnoses.

some people may identify with or have received a mental health diagnosis: although we veer away from the idea that people are “disordered”, we are trained in working with mental health diagnoses and are committed to working with people within their own framework of understanding and meaning.

we are trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (cbt), narrative therapy, systemic therapy, mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy and psychodynamic therapy. therapy is a collaborative process and the models we draw upon will depend on what we both decide is the best fit for you.
